  • Ability to perform administrative and retail tasks (e.g., financial transactions, patient registration, retail transactions)

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based vision care, recommend/prescribe medications and treatments (e.g., red eye, LASIK, cataract surgery)
  • Deliver routine vision care and educate patients/store associates on eye health, contact lens care, disease management, and safety
  • Recommend appropriate patient follow-up and consult with health professionals to prepare/coordinate care plans
  • Provide referrals to ophthalmologists/other professionals and follow up on diagnostics/tests/patient information
  • Evaluate patient health via comprehensive eye exams, review medical history, and use instruments/pharmaceuticals for diagnosis
  • Prescribe, fit, adjust eyeglasses/contact lenses/vision aids; order/interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., glaucoma, OCT)
  • Develop treatment plans based on clinical presentation using evidence-based guidelines; perform treatments like foreign body removal
  • Represent the company by delivering exceptional customer service in all patient interactions
  • Maintain/update patient information in vision center systems (e.g., BOSS) timely, accurately, and confidentially
  • Assist vision center staff (e.g., opticians) on best practices/procedures
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and Walmart guidelines; perform administrative/retail tasks (e.g., transactions, registration)
  • Collaborate with internal (e.g., pharmacists, management) and external stakeholders for coordinated patient care
