Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
2-5 years in chemical manufacturing preferred
Verbal and written fluency in English
Ability to operate a forklift and other equipment integral to the job tasks/functions
Ability to take process samples, make process adjustments or material additions from specific locations
Ability to visually monitor process equipment and analytical test equipment
Pass a fit for duty exam, respirator medical clearance examination, and respirator fit test (able to wear a respirator during strenuous physical activity)
Meet the requirements of the hearing conservation program
Strong understanding of safety procedures
Machinery operation skills (deep understanding of equipment functions, adjusting settings, troubleshooting)
Excellent time management
Adaptability
Decision making skills, including Stop Work Authority

Responsibilities

Work 8-hour rotating shifts (Day & Night or First, second, and third shift) on a regular rotation including weekends and holidays
Safely and efficiently operate and control chemical processes to deliver in-spec product and meet production schedules
Control and monitor dispersion process, centrifugation and classifying process, and sludge disposal process and equipment per standard or prescribed operating instructions
Provide guidance and training to new operators
Clean process equipment as required or as directed
Check and inspect all related and ancillary equipment and instrumentation for proper operation and accuracy
Control and monitor flash drying reaction, dewatering, and classifying process and equipment per standard or prescribed operating instructions
Control and monitor low pressure boiler, fluid bed drying process and equipment, raw material bulk bag unloading process and equipment, and packaging process and equipment per standard or prescribed operating instructions
Stop work when a perceived unsafe condition, behavior, technical, or mechanical error may result in an unwanted event
