Requirements

  • City and Guilds Electrical/Mechanical engineering qualification
  • Knowledge of 17th/18th Edition electrical regulations
  • Proven electrical/mechanical maintenance background
  • Ability to read electrical schematic drawings
  • Understanding of PLC controlled equipment
  • Flexible approach to shift patterns
  • Understanding of health and safety legislation
  • Full driving licence
  • Self-motivated and organised
  • Excellent organising and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Organise team maintenance and required equipment to ensure safe and timely operation and maintenance of machinery
  • Monitor workflow, identify potential problems, and take immediate corrective action through delegation, own action, or referral
  • Liaise effectively with Depot and Operations Managers, Section Leaders, and Control Room to resolve difficulties and enquiries
  • Ensure smooth transition of traffic across the machine with attention to Health and Safety
  • Complete all required information recording sheets timely and accurately
  • Adhere to all operational and maintenance procedures in the Group Operations Manual to maintain customer service levels
  • Ensure all equipment is returned to its designated area after use, maintained in safe and efficient working order, and report defective equipment
  • Repair and service all plant and equipment on site to recognised standards and as per the preventative maintenance schedule to minimise downtime of sortation equipment
