Requirements

Reside in Iquique (mandatory exclusionary requirement)
Technical degree in Mechanics, Electromechanics, or related field
2 years of experience in plant operations, preferably desalination and water treatment
Knowledge of mechanical systems: Mastery of basic principles of mechanical systems in desalination plants, such as pumps, valves, compressors, piping systems, heat exchangers, etc
Maintenance of mechanical equipment: Ability to perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on mechanical equipment, including lubrication, adjustment, repair, and replacement of parts
Diagnosis of mechanical failures: Ability to identify and diagnose mechanical failures using diagnostic tools and tests to detect issues like wear, leaks, component failures, etc
Welding and component repair: Knowledge and skills in welding processes, cutting, and other repair techniques for damaged or worn mechanical components
Alignment and adjustment of equipment: Mastery of techniques for aligning and adjusting machinery components, such as motors and pumps, to ensure proper operation

Responsibilities

Perform regular inspections of equipment such as pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, piping systems, valves, etc., to ensure proper functioning
Execute lubrication and adjustment tasks on equipment and machinery, following established procedures to maintain performance and prevent failures
Identify and replace worn or damaged mechanical parts or components due to use, such as bearings, gaskets, seals, etc
Operate reverse osmosis filters
Handle hazardous substances
Take samples
Identify and resolve mechanical problems affecting equipment operation, such as failures in pumps, valves, compressors, motors, etc., involving quick and accurate diagnosis to minimize downtime
Maintain availability and reliability of resources and information for compliance with the testing plan
Manage inventory of spare parts and replacement pieces for mechanical equipment, ensuring availability and adequate stock to avoid unplanned shutdowns
Provide technical support for the execution of tests
Properly maintain checklists, checkups, reports by equipment and specialty
Report technical anomalies encountered in the field
Evaluate and propose improvements in mechanical equipment to optimize performance, reduce energy consumption, and increase plant operational efficiency
