Requirements

  • Active Occupational Therapist license in the state of practice (Upon Hire)
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific factors and perform satisfactorily related to patients from infant through geriatrics
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment programs for patients
  • Evaluate assigned patients, gathering data from patient records, interviews, observations, and team members
  • Use selected activities and/or tasks to promote and maintain health, and achieve treatment goals
  • Establish and modify intervention goals and strategies based on ongoing evaluations
  • Provide direct therapy services to patients using various functional settings and strategies
  • Plan therapy within the patient’s physical, emotional, and intellectual capabilities, coordinated with rehabilitation, medical, and nursing care plans
  • Prepare documentation including evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress notes, and other reports
  • Communicate effectively with patient, family, physician, and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status, progress, and needs
  • Establish rapport and work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team members (including family/physician)
  • Enhance professional growth through educational programs, literature, in-service meetings, workshops, etc., and share knowledge with co-workers
  • Evaluate and monitor clinical internships with students
  • Participate in program development of the department
