High School or GED Equivalent (preferred)
Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Licensing Board in the state of practice within 120 Days
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work specified hours: Float position, 2p-10pm, every third weekend and holiday, 75 hours per pay period

Responsibilities

In training to become Nurse Assistant certified and/or Medication Aide certified
Provide assistance to residents with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, dressing, shaving, oral hygiene, bed making, transfers, repositioning, toileting, serving/collecting food trays, feeding, answering call lights)
Perform routine and non-routine duties as directed by nursing staff (e.g., ensuring clean environment, transporting patients, assisting with ambulation, orienting/reorienting residents)
Perform vital signs measurements (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, weight) and document concise, factual information
Assist residents with specific medical care activities per policy/procedure (e.g., restorative exercises, collecting specimens, assessing/documenting cares)
Provide feedback to nursing staff on resident status changes, pain management, and concerns
Assist with restocking supplies, maintaining clean and safe work environment, and cleaning procedures
Participate in providing emotional, educational, and spiritual support for families
Comply with resident rights, including confidentiality, privacy, and reporting abuse or misappropriation of property
Follow policies/procedures for fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plans, universal precautions, infection control, hazardous/chemical communication
Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, families, and staff
