Requirements

  • Participate in on-the-job training (OJT) program and NAS410 structured certification program to attain Level II certification
  • Work under guidance of company Level III to exercise privileges of company certifications
  • Work alongside experienced NDT Technicians for continuous interaction on techniques, skill knowledge, print reading, and interpretation
  • Process primary parts: turbine engine components
  • Complete computer-based and hands-on training to obtain required hours and certification credentials for Level II

Responsibilities

  • Complete the on-the-job training program and NAS410 certification requirements for Level II
  • Perform NDT inspections in accordance with manufacturers' original equipment manual (OEM) procedures in penetrant testing to detect surface defects in turbine engine components
  • Set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and accurately record and document results
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the scope and limitation of the technique or method used for part certification
  • Part processing includes fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI) and fluorescent magnetic particle inspection (FMPI)
  • Conduct system performance checks in accordance with applicable process standards
  • Receive guidance (as needed)
