Responsibilities

Help manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Take direction from Pharmacy Manager and oversee pharmacy during bench shifts without overlap, including coaching team members and providing performance feedback
Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, resolving issues, and coaching the team on compassionate care and collaboration
Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching on best practices, focusing on cold chain products
Ensure pharmacy operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed
Support Pharmacy Manager with scheduling if directed and contribute to a safe, inclusive team dynamic
Maintain relevant skills through trainings and seek opportunities to expand knowledge
Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through clinical services like testing and prescribing where permissible; empower the pharmacy team to provide such services
