Responsibilities

  • Architect the manufacturing workflow for HDD Electronics, including designing, implementing, and controlling systems for assembly, testing, and integration
  • Monitor operations and troubleshoot production issues
  • Support continuous improvement of PCBA yield and cost reduction
  • Support new product introduction for PCBA during development build, transition to LVM/HVM, sustaining phase, and until EOL
  • Ensure timely build and efficient transition of development PCBAs to EMS and factory until EOL
  • Ensure 100% execution-free product transfer to EMS based on EMS capability, SMT process, and quality requirements
  • Deliver requirements and processes to monitor product performance, including supporting engineering document releases at EMS for BOM revisions
  • Manage post-transfer qualification for electrical components by engaging SMEs and teams to finalize Master Test Plan (MTP) and grandfathering plan
  • Provide end-to-end oversight of electronics production processes, including ECAT, Servo Write, Functional Test, SRST, Feature Test, OQA, and ORT
  • Work with development teams to improve manufacturability and reduce production costs
  • Release and prepare engineering documents, including component build matrix, for development PCBA builds at EMS and factory systems
  • Perform component changes and BOM updates via RCO or NRCO upon ECB approval
  • Provide non-moving disposition and prepare conversion lists for rework PCBA activity
  • Support HDD logistics and shipment for CFT testing at EMS
  • Monitor production with metrics and data analytics (e.g., Overall Yield, FTY, RTY) to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities
  • Monitor EC (Error Codes) related to PCBA and RTR
