Senior Solutions Architect, HPC Systems Engineer
NVIDIA- Full Time
- Senior (5 to 8 years)
Candidates should possess 10+ years of experience in optical networking or photonic systems architecture, including hands-on involvement with system design, and expertise in the tradeoffs of power, cost, reliability, and density in large-scale optical deployments. Familiarity with specifying and integrating optics into hyperscale data center environments, along with deep knowledge of the current and emerging optics ecosystem, is also required.
As a Networking Architect – Optics, you will lead OpenAI’s strategy and roadmap for optics and photonics across all layers of the network stack, evaluate emerging technologies, including co-packaged optics, and architect systems for high reliability, taking into account failure modes such as link flaps and component aging. You will also specify switches, transceivers, and optical components for OpenAI deployments, interface with vendors and stakeholders, and contribute to cross-functional architectural efforts involving custom silicon and global-scale networks, while developing and executing internal testing strategies to qualify optics in production environments.
Develops safe and beneficial AI technologies
OpenAI develops and deploys artificial intelligence technologies aimed at benefiting humanity. The company creates advanced AI models capable of performing various tasks, such as automating processes and enhancing creativity. OpenAI's products, like Sora, allow users to generate videos from text descriptions, showcasing the versatility of its AI applications. Unlike many competitors, OpenAI operates under a capped profit model, which limits the profits it can make and ensures that excess earnings are redistributed to maximize the social benefits of AI. This commitment to safety and ethical considerations is central to its mission of ensuring that artificial general intelligence (AGI) serves all of humanity.
