Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business (Master of Taxation is a plus)
  • 1-3 years of multi-state Indirect tax experience in Big 4 public accounting or combination of public accounting and in-house tax department
  • Good understanding of indirect tax and state and local tax
  • Experience in preparing state and local tax returns and workpapers (Indirect tax experience is a plus)
  • Experience preferred in performing product analysis for sales/use tax determinations and multi-state software and technology tax technical knowledge
  • CPA is a plus
  • Experience working with tax compliance software (Vertex and PTMS preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficiency in workflow tools such as Alteryx and Power BI
  • Experience in ERP and/or procurement systems, such as Oracle R12 and Ariba is a plus
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects
  • Self-starter who takes initiative while seeking appropriate guidance
  • Strong accounting, analytical, and organizational skills; detail and process oriented producing high quality work
  • Excellent presentation, written, and oral communication skills
  • Collaborator communicating effectively with other professionals throughout the organization

Responsibilities

  • Manage State and Local Indirect Tax function, including compliance
  • Manage State and Local Indirect Tax function, including audits/controversies
  • Manage State and Local Indirect Tax function, including planning
  • Manage State and Local Indirect Tax function, including system integrations for sales/use tax, personal property tax, and similar tax types
  • Work closely with the Director and other team members in the Corporate Tax team
