Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, with 2+ years using MBSE practices in an aerospace or defense environment
  • Deep understanding of SysML and experience using tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw, Enterprise Architect, or similar
  • Strong grasp of requirements management and traceability (DOORS, Jama, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated ability to define architecture and lead technical planning across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, especially in cross-functional environments
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance (requires U.S. Citizenship)

Responsibilities

  • Build MBSE Foundations: Lead the adoption and implementation of SysML-based MBSE practices at Red 6, tailored to our product architecture and organizational needs
  • System Modeling: Develop and manage SysML models that capture system requirements, structure, behaviors, and constraints
  • Architecture Definition: Design modular, scalable system architectures to support AR training solutions in airborne and ground-based environments
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with software, hardware, and flight test teams to ensure cohesive system integration and traceability across disciplines
  • Digital Thread Enablement: Help establish a continuous, model-driven workflow connecting requirements, design, simulation, and V&V artifacts
  • Mentorship & Process Development: Provide technical leadership and documentation to onboard future MBSE practitioners as the team grows
