Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline (including Aeronautical/Aerospace, Electrical/Electronic, Systems and Safety), Physics or Astronomy (minimum 2:2)

Responsibilities

Develop specialist background in Safety and Reliability Engineering within the Defence sector
Experience and support product development across phases from conception through testing, trials, manufacture, and customer delivery
Apply Safety and Reliability Engineering techniques and best practices, e.g., Hazard Analysis, Failure Mode Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Safety or Reliability Case Reports
Support design teams to deliver safe and reliable products on time and on cost
Implement business processes with guidance from Guided Weapon Safety Officers or Technical Experts
Facilitate or attend Customer Safety Panel meetings or Community of Practice events
Build and secure networks with stakeholders within and outside MBDA
Participate in outreach representing Safety/Reliability Engineering and collaborative internal knowledge sharing events
Progress towards Principal Safety and Reliability Engineer role, assessing and assuring safety and reliability of complex weapon systems (developing skills in both safety and reliability)
