Requirements

  • Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline (including Aeronautical/Aerospace, Electrical/Electronic, Systems and Safety), Physics or Astronomy (minimum 2:2)

Responsibilities

  • Develop specialist background in Safety and Reliability Engineering within the Defence sector
  • Experience and support product development across phases from conception through testing, trials, manufacture, and customer delivery
  • Apply Safety and Reliability Engineering techniques and best practices, e.g., Hazard Analysis, Failure Mode Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Safety or Reliability Case Reports
  • Support design teams to deliver safe and reliable products on time and on cost
  • Implement business processes with guidance from Guided Weapon Safety Officers or Technical Experts
  • Facilitate or attend Customer Safety Panel meetings or Community of Practice events
  • Build and secure networks with stakeholders within and outside MBDA
  • Participate in outreach representing Safety/Reliability Engineering and collaborative internal knowledge sharing events
  • Progress towards Principal Safety and Reliability Engineer role, assessing and assuring safety and reliability of complex weapon systems (developing skills in both safety and reliability)
