Requirements

Technical Certificate: One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (less than 1 year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination)

Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree in a healthcare-related field
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) - National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) upon hire
Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) - National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) upon hire

Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee medical staff, including physician and allied health credentialing and re-credentialing
Manage meeting flow of information from medical staff committees to appropriate sources
Handle all credentialing activities: provide completed files, complete preliminary review of credentials documents for applications, appointments, and reappointments in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, HFAP standards, and State and Federal law
Schedule, coordinate, and attend Medical Staff Section and Committee meetings; provide agendas and accurate minutes
Provide appropriate documentation of all activities for follow-through on committee actions, policy changes, and confidential medical staff actions
Ensure compliance with accreditation standards for the organized medical staff and administration
Assist in meeting credentialing needs of hospitals, clinics, physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in the service areas
