Requirements

Commitment to the role for at least 1-2 years
Interest in pre-med tracks (e.g., MD/DO/PA/NP programs), Health Informatics, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Medical Coding, or related fields
Ability to work full-time (40 anticipated weekly hours)

Responsibilities

Support primary care providers with clinical documentation to allow focus on patient care
Huddle each morning with providers to plan for the day's visits
Join providers in the exam room to observe and document patient encounters in real time
Touch base after visits to assist with next steps
Serve as clinical documentation assistants (CISs - Clinic Informatics Specialists)
Become experts in value-based care model, documentation and care of chronic conditions, ICD-10 and CPT coding
Help providers identify and close care gaps using expertise
Participate in extensive on-the-job training in clinical workflows, value-based medicine, preventative care for chronic conditions, accurate documentation, population health data streams, and team-based care
