Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and hold a university degree or PhD in Health Sciences or a medically related field. Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge and experience in Diabetes are considered advantageous. Advanced interpersonal, communication, teamwork, project management, and presentation skills are essential, along with the ability to translate scientific data into clear and compliant customer communications. Strong commercial/business acumen, customer interface experience, and the ability to partner effectively across multiple functions including Marketing, Compliance, Legal, Regulatory, Market Access, and Sales are necessary. Strong leadership and influencing skills, including cross-functional and upward influence, are also required, as is the ability to manage and prioritize complex deliverables.

Responsibilities

Medical Science Liaisons act as field-based medical affairs ambassadors, engaging with scientific experts to understand research needs, respond to inquiries, and foster scientific dialogue. They identify opportunities for research collaborations, support medical initiatives, and share insights to inform Lilly's strategic direction. Responsibilities include demonstrating deep scientific and clinical knowledge of therapeutic areas, disease states, and treatment options, and effectively communicating complex scientific concepts. Liaisons are expected to leverage their knowledge to engage customers in scientific exchange, identify solutions for medical information needs, and exhibit territory ownership by implementing and evaluating strategic territory plans. They must adhere to all governing internal and external requirements and laws, demonstrating strategic analysis, planning, and prioritization. Excelling at customer engagement by displaying emotional intelligence, building mutually beneficial dialogue, and understanding customers is key, as is delivering best-in-class customer experiences. Liaisons must also display strategic vision and leadership, synthesize complex data, solve problems creatively and compliantly, and make effective decisions. Collaboration with others and acceptance of change are expected, along with acting as a peer leader and coach.
