Candidates must possess a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree from a U.S. medical school and have successfully completed residency at an accredited healthcare institution. Experience in management and leading teams is required, along with a working knowledge of community clinic/health center operations. A current active California medical license, DEA license, and malpractice coverage are mandatory. Board Certification from California is also required.
The Medical Director will oversee improvement projects for assigned clinics, manage operational, financial, and business development tasks, and enhance customer service through process development. They will lead clinic operations to meet patient care, administrative, and operational needs, conducting chart and utilization reviews to ensure quality care. Clinically, the role involves providing comprehensive medical care, including evaluations, diagnoses, and management of conditions, conducting physical exams, interpreting tests, developing treatment plans, and managing medication reconciliation. Responsibilities also include coordinating after-hours telephonic coverage, contributing to new medical programs, and participating in recruitment, training, and performance management of staff.
