Candidates must possess a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy degree and be board eligible or certified in Oncology or Hematology, or have equivalent post-medical school clinical training. A minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical trials or research within the pharmaceutical industry, academia, or a research setting is required. A PhD is highly advantageous, along with proven leadership, strong communication, and document management skills, including proficiency in MS Word, EndNote, PowerPoint, and Excel. The ability to multi-task, exercise judgment, and develop collaborative relationships is essential.
The Senior Director of Clinical Development will lead clinical development programs, serving as a liaison to physicians and clinical trial sites. Key responsibilities include the design, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of scientific content for protocols, investigator brochures, clinical study reports, and regulatory submissions. This role involves contributing to due diligence, designing translational strategies, acting as a clinical lead, soliciting opinion leader interactions, and partnering with cross-functional teams. The position requires staying updated on therapeutic area advancements, representing Lilly at external meetings, understanding and complying with regulatory requirements, and ensuring adherence to Good Clinical Practices, pharmacovigilance standards, and operating procedures.
