Requirements

  • Medical expertise to serve as subject matter expert supporting Regulatory Affairs, Business Development, Quality Assurance, and Commercial
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements, risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, internal controls, good promotional practice, GCP, corporate SOPs, and local regulatory requirements
  • Ability to oversee Pharmacovigilance systems, anticipate safety signals, and ensure reporting to competent authorities
  • Capability to lead clinical research, co-write protocols, and ensure compliance in study conduct

Responsibilities

  • Oversee medical aspect of brand team interactions and provide medical subject matter expertise to promotional material development, commercial, and marketing initiatives
  • Review and sign off on promotional materials for scientific alignment and compliance; act as affiliate signatory on relevant documents
  • Provide medical support to marketing and product planning for new products, line extensions, new indications; support launches by engaging KOLs, gathering insights, providing trainings, and creating materials
  • Serve as point of contact for medical queries from external (KOLs, doctors, healthcare professionals) and internal stakeholders (QA, RA, PV, commercial)
  • Create/modify slide decks for external stakeholders for disease talks, scientific meetings, formulary submissions
  • Provide training and refresher courses on therapeutic areas; conduct medical/marketing activities to enhance sales force capabilities (e.g., journal clubs)
  • Lead and facilitate scientific discussions between Abbott staff and external KOLs on products and therapeutic areas
  • Serve as Affiliate Safety Representative or back-up; support implementation of Pharmacovigilance systems and safety reporting
  • Lead affiliate and subregional Clinical Research: initiate discussions, co-write protocols with KOLs; oversee clinical study activities for compliance
  • Support Medical Governance: understand compliance, identify risks, plan mitigations, implement and monitor internal controls
