Responsibilities

Study towards a Level 4 Engineering, Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship, including a HNC qualification in Mechanical Engineering
Attend Cambridge Regional College 1 day per week
Spend remaining time on work-based placements (typically 3-6 months), including rotations in areas such as Mechanical Design, Mechanical Analysis, Materials and Processes, Design Definition Office, Configuration management, Environmental Engineering & Facilities, Industry Policy, Supply Chain and Procurement
Use industry standard engineering software packages such as Creo Parametric, Altair HyperMesh, and Ansys
Learn key engineering design and analysis skills, including calculation of mass properties, limits and fits, understanding of material properties and selection process
Apply structural and dynamic analysis techniques
Work as part of a multi-functional project team, collaborating with colleagues from Electronics, Environmental engineering, and Manufacturing
Assist in achieving Professional accreditation through the IMechE, IET or RAeS
