Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and have 5-10 years of experience in product development, contributing to the journey of system-level products from concept to market. Proficiency in thermal and fluid simulation tools like FloTHERM, ANSYS, or COMSOL is required, along with hands-on experience with testing and instrumentation such as thermocouples and IR cameras. A strong understanding of thermal principles, including thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics, is essential, as is experience in product validation, encompassing thermal, shock/drop, and environmental testing.
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will contribute to mechanical projects with a task-based, cross-functional schedule, developing thermal architectures and specifications for system mechanical assemblies. They will perform thermal simulations (CFD, FEA) and validate models through testing and measurement, contributing to design reviews for prototype builds and DFX, outside design firms, and supplier deliverables. The role involves collaborating with ODM/JDM partner development teams, working seamlessly with internal cross-functional teams (HW, SW, Test, Quality, Certification & Operations) to meet program deliverables and quality criteria, managing mechanical tooling NRE budgets and schedules, contributing to Proto & Pilot builds, reviewing Allegro Board files for mechanical DFM’s, and internal designs including drive carriers, chassis concepts, and PCIe card carriers. The position also requires the ability to travel internationally and domestically as needed.
