The Opportunity

This role presents a significant opportunity to influence the development of advanced device technology. You will play a crucial role in defining our product architecture and shaping critical decisions across Mechanical, Electrical, and Performance domains. Your expertise will be vital as we advance the drone market and deliver tangible benefits to communities.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• 3+ years of experience in Mechanical Design
• Experience designing robust enclosures for industrial IoT and electromechanical devices
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
• Strong experience with injection molding and sheet metal fabrication
• Solid understanding of Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals (e.g., statics, dynamics, material science)
• Ability to design products that meet precise technical requirements and performance criteria

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Experience working with small, power-constrained, ruggedized devices

The First 30 Days

• Familiarize yourself with essential design software and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
• Understand departmental conventions, workflows, and your key responsibilities.

The First 60 Days

• Deliver CAD models and drawings of mechanical components and assemblies.
• Deliver Bill of Materials (BOM) including all mechanical components.
• Create manufacturing drawings and specifications for mechanical parts.
• Conduct thorough analysis and testing to validate design choices and implement necessary improvements.

90 Days & Beyond

• Deliver physical prototypes for testing and validation.
• Deliver test reports and data analysis documenting the performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical designs.
