Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 4-6 years of engineering experience
  • Demonstrated successful experience in mechanical engineering within a product design and manufacturing environment
  • Experience designing and developing products through the lifecycle
  • Ability to design for a wide range of fabrication and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with product and process validation
  • Tooling and/or equipment design experience
  • Detail-oriented, including proven documentation skills
  • Strong 3D CAD experience, CATIA a plus
  • Ability to work autonomously to manage projects

Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive Serviceability (Design for Serviceability)
  • Evaluate part and assembly design, from concept to design to manufacturing introduction for hand clearance, tooling clearance, ergonomics, and feasibility of replacement of all components
  • Develop service part release strategy and maintain the Service BOM for spare parts planning
  • Work closely with engineering teams to integrate components and electromechanical systems
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers on the build of new product iterations
  • Identify the need for specialized tooling. Guide the special tooling team for design ideation, and development of the tool
  • Participate in requirements definition as it pertains to service, availability of the product, and reliability
  • Provide comprehensive cost/time modeling that showcases opportunities to drive product change that supports the reduction of cost or complexity of the repair
  • Work with the technical writing team to establish the repair process
