  • Bachelor’s degree in a related Scientific or Engineering discipline, or significant equivalent experience
  • Practical and Theoretical knowledge of mechanical design, especially precision motion structure design
  • Familiar with common raw material characteristics
  • Proficient in tolerance chain analysis
  • Track record of timely design and development of new components, subassemblies and products
  • Ability to travel to vendors, customer sites and technical conferences/training up to 10% of time

Responsibilities

  • Generate new concepts for products and subcomponents that target quantified customer problems and meet appropriate Design standards and Regulatory standards
  • Design components and subassemblies, develop independent proposals and test plans for investigating problems and proving new designs
  • Lead troubleshooting investigations
  • Partner with D&D Management to implement initiatives supporting strategic direction
  • Independently design, plan and execute assigned tasks
  • Manage small design/development sub-projects (e.g., a subassembly or a natural subdivision of a development project) as needed
