Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. They should have at least two years of experience in mechanical engineering design, including experience creating complex CAD models and drawings utilizing plastics and metal parts. Furthermore, candidates should be familiar with the product development cycle, encompassing design, development, testing, and manufacturing, and have experience guiding decisions based on complex mechanical tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take full responsibility for the product design and system-level ownership, spanning from concept development through production launch and ramp-up, with a particular focus on thermal systems and the integration of other power systems. You will support the production bring-up of power systems components, collaborating closely with power system design engineers and the manufacturing build team. Additionally, you will work on the integration and debugging of thermal and power systems components within test and production vehicles, working with thermal engineers to select appropriate components like fans, pumps, and radiators. You will also contribute to the definition of validation plans, conduct root cause analysis for failures, and collaborate on packaging components both internally and externally on the RV cabin, including fluid line routing. Finally, you will conduct detailed mechanical analysis and develop detailed mechanical specifications for subsystems and components, working closely with validation, manufacturing, and power system engineers.
