Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience required with working knowledge in maintenance, inspections and repairs
  • Have the ability to utilize handheld and desktop computer devices to input work orders and record work
  • Must maintain a valid NYS Commercial Driver License with clean driving record
  • Working knowledge of construction and handyman repair Experience in the following areas: electrical, plumbing, heating/air conditioning and equipment associated with trades
  • Ability to push or carry objects
  • Experience working with hand and power tools, materials and equipment associated with construction related
  • Proven experience communicating with a diverse audience
  • New York City residency is required within 180 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Partner with supervisor and EDC site manager to ensure that the market and its facilities are routinely inspected, and work orders are logged appropriately in accordance with EDC requirements
  • Provide detailed summary of nightly findings to required parties to ensure all stakeholders are kept informed
  • Perform regular check ins with tenants and stakeholders at the site to ensure needs are met and captured
  • Assist in management of contracted retainer workers
  • Support and aid in the coordination of contractor site visits and or repairs as necessary
  • Respond to emergencies as required. Must be available and responsive 24/7 and able to help provide solutions during the decision-making process as issues arise
  • During snow events that require removal duties, partner with the team to establish logistics plans to address removal duties and coordinate with appropriate contractors to ensure there is coverage for the removal event. This position is expected to report onsite to coordinate with field staff and participate in removal actions
  • This is an onsite position that requires a 5-day presence at the NFFM (800 FCD) with travel to our main office at One Liberty Plaza as needed. Work schedule is subject to manager approval/consideration
