Requirements

Candidates should possess a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in shop/field heavy equipment troubleshooting and repair, along with technical certifications or an Associate’s Degree. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical theories and principles is required, as well as good written and verbal communication skills for daily reporting and computer literacy for work orders. Applicants must be able to obtain a forklift license and furnish tools suitable for heavy equipment repair, while maintaining a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

The Service Technician is responsible for providing high-quality repair service on material handling equipment in order to meet customer needs in a responsive, friendly, educated, and timely manner, including troubleshooting and performing complex repairs in the shop or field, completing work orders in a timely manner, performing preventative maintenance, maintaining open communication with the service manager, and working within set time parameters, multitasking, and following procedures. The role also involves working with limited supervision and independent judgment, maintaining positive working relationships, professionally managing difficult situations, and being able to work safely in all weather conditions, including the ability to maneuver around equipment, lift and handle heavy loads, and diagnose equipment visibly and audibly.
