Requirements

  • Studying for a master’s degree in computer science, medical engineering, mathematics, physics or a comparable subject
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages (C/C++), script languages (e.g. Python, Matlab) and preferably libraries (OpenCV, Qt, DCMTK)
  • Good grasp of mathematics
  • Desire to tackle challenging problems in medical engineering
  • Good command of English and ideally a good command of German
  • Ability to work independently, highly motivated and committed, and prepared to take on responsibility quickly
  • Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement (Sperrvermerk)

Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply latest technologies in machine vision, computer graphics, human-computer interaction and interactive systems
  • Develop prototypes for the Surgical Navigation System
  • Support the team with a proof-of-concept application
  • Implement solution using C++, Python and/or Matlab
  • Evaluate solution in an ecosystem of state-of-the-art navigation and imaging systems
  • Act as an active member of the international and interdisciplinary research and development team
