Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering field
  • 7+ years technical experience preferably focused on high volume consumer product developing test cases
  • Basic RF functional and testing understanding
  • Strong team working skills
  • Familiar with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) practices and must emphasize their importance
  • Understanding of test methodologies used to validate battery and mains operated electrical products
  • Understanding of test methodologies used to evaluate functionality and performance at the product level
  • Understanding of automation tools, software and methodologies
  • Understanding of manufacturing test methods and processes
  • Strong sense of ownership, willingness to go beyond the perceived boundaries of responsibilities to resolve issues
  • Experience with HW Design tools (Altium preferred)
  • Proficiently use documentation and communication tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, etc.)
  • Experience with products for the utility industry, specifically water, gas and electric meters, is preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and must be able to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Occasional travel to production facilities required
  • Ability to deal with multiple priorities and problems in a high pressure fast paced environment
  • Second language desirable to facilitate communications with Contract Manufacturers
  • Maintain composure and professionalism, ability to empathize with upset customers and team members

Responsibilities

  • Design, documentation, build, debug and support activities for test fixtures, primarily focused on factory testing for existing product lines and developing test solutions for NPI projects
  • Lead test fixture design and development to provide exceptional solutions to test products in both high volume and low volume manufacturing environments
  • Collaborate across teams to develop production test solutions that properly screen for product defects while optimizing for product throughput
  • Seek and drive continuous improvement efforts to lower instances of false failures and increase throughput
  • Coordinate with program managers to implement complex process changes and configurations to optimize the manufacturing process
  • Analyze test data to ensure product quality and reliability and repeatability of test fixtures produced
  • Support capacity increase initiatives through build and test of duplicate stations
  • Detailed and timely technical documentation of test fixture design schematics
  • Approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset, staying curious and proactive in finding solutions
  • Adapt to new technologies and methods, remaining flexible and quickly adjusting to changes in project requirements and unexpected challenges
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
