Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of experience working in the food manufacturing industry
4 years of experience working as an experienced level maintenance mechanic (totaling minimum 5 years in related jobs)
Able to work rotating 12-hour night shifts (6p-6:30am, 2-2-3 schedule) including weekends, overtime, and occasionally flexible hours
Complete knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and fabrication techniques, including reading schematics, diagrams, and manufacturer specifications
Knowledge of food grade aluminum and stainless-steel welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Acetylene), soldering, and machine shop tools (broach, mill, lathe)
Electrical knowledge, including troubleshooting, schematics, control/main power, motor frames, power load, amp draw, and possession of professional electrical tools (voltmeter, amp meter)
Knowledge of lubricants, pneumatic/water systems, and packing machinery
Ability to multitask, prioritize, triage in fast-paced environment, and be self-motivated
Ability to communicate safety issues and read safety/quality documents
Possess full complement of necessary hand and power tools for industrial maintenance
PLC experience (plus)
Operate equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts
Current GMP, Safety, Food Safety, & technical knowledge via training

Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment (assembly, conveyors, forming, mixing, ovens)
Follow work instructions, OSHA safety rules, use PPE and safety equipment
Diagnose problems, replace/repair parts, detect defective items, test, and adjust high-speed production equipment
Diagnose and repair all electrical functions
Prioritize and triage in fast-paced environment
Maintain equipment per diagrams, manufacturer specs, preventive maintenance work orders, and scheduled PMs
Generate work orders and parts requests
Use machine shop and related machines to repair parts or fabricate modifications
Complete work orders, PMs, and related documentation
Use mechanical and pneumatic processes (cylinders, glue machines, date coders)
Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment
Maintain GMP, Safety, Food Safety, & technical knowledge through training
Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (USDA, OSHA, FDA, EPA, Local Government)
