Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role within the heavy structural fabrication and machining industry
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machining, welding, and assembly
  • Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong analytical mindset
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in safety and quality assurance

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs
  • Develop and implement engineering solutions for heavy structural fabrication and machining
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality assurance, and production, to ensure seamless project execution
  • Conduct root cause analysis of production issues and implement corrective actions
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles to identify areas for continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and quality control standards
  • Assist in the design and development of manufacturing tools and fixtures
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in manufacturing processes
  • Train and mentor manufacturing staff on new processes, tools, and best practices
  • Analyze production data and provide reporting on key metrics such as efficiency, quality, and production costs
