Requirements

  • Acquire Series 7 and 63 licenses within the first 3 months of employment
  • 8+ years of Relationship Management or Client Service experience, preferably in the Retirement/401K industry
  • Retirement plan record keeping and administration experience
  • Relationship management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Effective presentation, influence, and negotiation skills
  • Experience working with Financial Advisors
  • Willingness to travel ~25%

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for 40-50 client relationships managing $10–20M+ in assets under administration for defined contribution plans
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients (Plan Sponsors) and their Advisors, acting as the client's 'trusted advisor'
  • Build internal working relationships with Fidelity personnel to support service delivery
  • Verify client agreement on issues and options before implementing solutions
  • Set strategic direction for client plans and demonstrate ultimate ownership and accountability for relationships
  • Partner with Plan Advisors to understand their value proposition and plan needs
  • Plan and conduct effective in-person and/or phone meetings with Plan Sponsors and Advisors
  • Make detailed plans and preparations for client meetings in partnership with the Plan’s Advisor
  • Accurately plan, influence, and implement Fidelity solutions to address client needs
  • Differentiate Fidelity's benefits approach against competitive solutions
  • Facilitate discussions with clients on legal, regulatory, and design issues across the plan
  • Consult with clients and advisors on qualified and potentially nonqualified plan design alternatives
  • Coordinate internal resources to provide analysis and recommendations on design alternatives
  • Analyze investment architecture and provide appropriate alternatives in partnership with the Plan’s Advisor
  • Identify key drivers and maintain consistent formal/informal contact with key client decision makers
  • Actively facilitate Investment Review meetings in partnership with the Plan’s Advisor
  • Work closely with Investment Consulting to build effective investment strategies and solutions benefiting clients and Fidelity
  • Assist Plan Sponsors with plan corrections, resolving operational defects, PSW navigation, providing plan/participant literature, and contribution inquiries
  • Act as the lead associate for the Book of Business, supported by functions like Client Service Administrator and Testing and Reporting Analyst
  • Build and develop strong internal working relationships
  • Focus on understanding and responding to clients and advisors in a consultative role
