Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Apparel, Textiles, Engineering or related field (or suitable combination of education, experience, and training)
  • Minimum of 5 years directly relevant work experience
  • Additional experience in product creation, product standards, quality assurance, or materials management
  • Strong knowledge of Apparel material/product creation and supply chain processes
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations, and ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
  • Strong information-seeking skills, personal drive, and ability to motivate and coach others
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and Product Data Management or PLM systems
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group of individuals
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 10% of the time
  • Detail-oriented people manager with strong leadership skills and deep understanding of material and product standards
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, mentorship, and ability to positively influence cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Report into the Material, Product & Color Standards Development Director and support the team in managing material and product standards across seasonal timelines to meet Nike athlete needs
  • Serve as a key member of the product standards community and expert resource
  • Collaborate with teams across design, materials development, product management, product creation, manufacturing, lab testing, and product integrity
  • Oversee the development and implementation of robust standards that ensure product quality, consistency, and compliance
  • Guide the team with knowledge of apparel industry standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging best practices
  • Act as the primary contact partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure all Apparel product meets Nike’s quality and compliance standards
  • Create and refine material and product specifications and influence testing protocols for Nike Apparel
  • Lead the development and implementation of tools and processes to support product standardization in both the creation and manufacturing process
  • Onboard and mentor new team members
  • Research innovations in standards and drive the adoption of industry-leading practices
