Requirements

Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience managing engineering teams, which can include senior engineer or team lead roles, and over 5 years of experience building scalable systems with a proven track record in architecting security controls for new products. A strategic mindset, comfort with ambiguity, the ability to scope broadly, make technical trade-offs, and pivot based on feedback are essential. Strong communication skills for conveying technical plans to non-technical stakeholders and aligning diverse teams are required. Preferred qualifications include 5+ years of experience designing and building secure systems with engineering teams, familiarity with OWASP Top 10 and industry standards, experience securing cloud infrastructure, understanding of web application architecture and design principles, prior experience in a regulated environment, and experience in secure code review with languages like PHP, Python, Kotlin, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

Responsibilities

The Manager, Security Engineering will build and lead security engineering teams, mentoring engineers and establishing scalable practices for security-focused engineering, design review, and consultation. They will drive execution by coordinating with organizational TPM and the Director, Security Engineering, managing sprint planning, resource allocation, and risk management to achieve individual, team, and organizational goals. This role involves instituting best practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and strong security postures.
