Direct experience in mentoring, developing people, and managing performance over time is essential, as is experience in Open Source selling or Cloud-first environments.
The Manager of Observability Architects will be responsible for building and managing a team of high-performing Observability Architects, acting as customer-facing solution experts. This includes owning the platform onboarding, adoption, and expansion experience for Grafana's customers, ensuring the rapid and successful application of the company's technology. Responsibilities also include attracting, recruiting, ramping, and mentoring team members, defining and executing customer lifecycle frameworks, and adopting a servant-based leadership approach with a player/coach mentality. The role involves being responsible for retention and expansion, directing day-to-day work based on leadership guidance, partnering with sales leadership on customer programs and marketing initiatives, and providing executive sponsorship for key accounts. Additionally, the manager will act as a thought leader for customers and internally, contributing to customer strategies for adopting Grafana technologies, developing enablement programs, ensuring customer requirements are met through collaboration with Product Management and Engineering, and owning team performance reporting. This includes educating users on the Grafana stack, assisting with SLA dashboards, articulating the Grafana value proposition, providing a feedback loop on products and the competitive landscape, and enhancing documentation through blog posts, videos, and knowledge base articles.
