Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Licensed Customs Broker preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing multiple FTZs in a large company
  • Experience with external logistics service providers preferred
  • Proficiency in SAP, Integration Point, IP/TR FTZ, WMS.net, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of distribution, transportation, warehousing, and kitting operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all organizational levels
  • Detail-oriented, process-driven, and accountable for operational performance
  • Strong problem-solving and business judgment
  • Ability to manage internal/external stakeholders and perform under pressure during seasonal peaks

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration and management of three Foreign Trade Zones (FTZs), ensuring operational compliance and resolving inventory reconciliation or manifest discrepancies
  • Supervise the FTZ team to maintain efficient, compliant daily operations across distribution FTZs
  • Ensure adherence to Foreign-Trade Zones Board and U.S. Customs regulations, proactively monitoring and implementing regulatory changes impacting FTZ operations
  • Lead IT integration projects related to FTZ software, including user testing, issue resolution, and stakeholder engagement
  • Collaborate with plant management to support operational changes, expansions, and FTZ boundary modifications, coordinating with Trade Compliance for required authorizations
  • Provide ongoing training and guidance to FTZ staff, fostering a culture of compliance and operational excellence
  • Identify and resolve inventory issues, ensuring accurate control and reconciliation between SAP and FTZ systems
  • Conduct regular internal audits of FTZ operations, report findings to management, and oversee annual Customs audits
  • Oversee in-bond exports and zone-to-zone transfers, coordinating with transportation teams to ensure carrier POAs for in-bond truck movements
  • Update and maintain the FTZ Operations Manual and related documentation
  • Develop and implement tariff mitigation strategies, monitor exclusion lists, and leverage FTZ operations to minimize import duties
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure information systems are compliant for FTZ reporting
  • Collaborate with brokers and software providers to implement changes related to trade regulations and tariffs
