Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred
2+ years of relevant experience required; additional experience in leading technical teams or firewall-focused network security preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically, make data-driven decisions, and translate business needs into actionable solution designs
Expert-level operational knowledge of Network Security Policy tools, network monitoring platforms, and full-stack/application observability tools (preferred)
Proven ability to design secure network solutions, articulate their business value, and leverage automation and scripting to enhance efficiency
Strong communication, leadership, and project management abilities, with a collaborative mindset and a “how might we” approach to innovation
In-depth understanding of enterprise network technologies; relevant certifications such as CCNA CyberOps, CCNA Route/Switch, NetSec certifications, and vendor-specific credentials (Palo Alto, Cisco, etc.) preferred

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of firewall engineers as a player-coach, fostering collaboration, continuous learning, and professional growth
Develop strategies that elevate team performance, drive successful project delivery, and promote continuous improvement
Perform technical analysis and guide engineering efforts to design and implement highly available, secure, and resilient firewall and network architectures
Monitor network health using SNMP, security policy management, and application observability tools, proactively addressing capacity, performance, and security risks
Drive complex incident and problem management, oversee vendor governance, and ensure scalable, cost-effective, high-quality solutions
Collaborate across the organization to align network security with business objectives while continuously optimizing for cost, scalability, availability, security, and supportability
Define and execute a secure connectivity vision, oversee firewall policies, proactively monitor for threats and application health, stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry trends, and maintain compliance with best practices, standards, and regulatory requirements
