Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient and effective guidance and supervision of all staff in the Facility Services Department
  • Coordinate functions, activities, schedules, and solve procedural problems
  • Make independent decisions concerning emergency situations
  • Manage Physical Plant Operations of off-campus facilities, including electrical, mechanical services, physical structure, pneumatic tube systems, boilers, HVAC, generators, fuel, and utility distribution in accordance with State and Federal regulations, facility policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate and conduct staff on-the-job training/orientation for Facility Services staff along with other Facility Services Managers
  • Perform the collection and maintenance of records as needed by the Quality Assurance Department, Joint Commission accreditation, OSHA guidelines, or as required by law
  • Communicate with staff frequently and report feedback in a timely fashion to the Facility Services Director
  • Assume routine daily management responsibilities in the absence of leadership
  • Participate in staff assignments as needed to maintain efficiency within the Facility Services Department
  • Coordinate the scheduling process and maintain appropriate staffing levels to maximize department efficiency
  • Assist leadership in the implementation, planning, and development of the annual department budget (e.g., capital equipment needs)
  • Maintain clinical competence to serve as a resource to staff, including performing general housekeeping and maintenance duties, maintaining daily log of activities, and responding to emergency codes and security requests
  • Ensure buildings and grounds are in good condition and meet all applicable building and life safety codes
  • Interview, hire, develop, train, and retain employees; plan, assign, and lead work; appraise performance; reward and coach employees; address complaints and resolve problems
