With significant funding and recent Series D closing, HealthJoy is experiencing high growth and impact. This role is a key contributor to the Engineering Team.

Your Impact

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a cross-functional team in creating new experiences to deliver "Joy" to our members. You will enhance our SaaS solution, scale distributed systems, and improve engineering practices, working with modern technologies such as microservices, cloud design patterns, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and AWS. Your work will directly impact how people interact with the healthcare system.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of software and QA engineers to deliver high-quality products.
  • Guide software engineers through the entire product lifecycle: planning, designing, coding, delivery, and support.
  • Drive day-to-day technical decisions.
  • Own and improve the throughput and stability of product delivery and application lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with product management and design on product discovery.
  • Partner with staff engineers to ensure solutions integrate with the HealthJoy platform.
  • Manage metrics for product delivery and developer performance.
  • Recruit, grow, and retain engineering talent.
  • Coach individual contributors and technical leads.
  • Act as a liaison between the team and business stakeholders.
  • Foster a collaborative environment for delivering high-quality, reliable, and well-tested features.
  • Champion HealthJoy values within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of software development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing software development teams.
  • Hands-on leadership experience in software design, code, build, test, deploy, and support.
  • 5+ years of hands-on development experience with Python.
  • 5+ years of experience with relational database design, development, and optimization.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of AWS infrastructure is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience mentoring engineers to build scalable, resilient, consumer-facing mobile and web distributed solutions.
  • Experience leading engineers through technical impediments and production support.
  • Experience with US healthcare is a plus.
  • Experience or interest in AI development tools is a plus.

Total Rewards

  • Job Level: 50
  • Base Compensation Range: $175,000 - $200,000 Annually
  • The cash compensation includes base salary only. Certain roles may be eligible for additional cash incentives (e.g., commission, annual bonus targets, overtime pay, other variable incentives).
