Requirements

  • Solid working relationship with internal manufacturing, Site Engineering, and Quality departments
  • Solid working relationship with external equipment vendors and Third Party Facilities Management company
  • Ability to work within manufacturing facility where hazardous chemicals may be present (PPE required at times)
  • Ability to work on very complex assignments requiring independent action, high degree of initiative, problem resolution, and recommendation development
  • Work under general direction from Director, Utilities & Sustainability, with independent determination, development, and execution of solutions aligned with conceptual direction
  • Ensure direction and decision making aligned with site management/lead prior to final decisions

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support, system ownership, and subject matter expertise for electrical infrastructure (e.g., Utility Electrical infrastructure, substations, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, generators, motor control centers, distribution panels, transformers, motors, transfer switches, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, heat trace)
  • Provide guidance and oversee preventative maintenance of electrical equipment, including Job Plan development and maintenance
  • Oversee electrical elements of new projects, including development of Scope of Requirements, Basis of Design, Detailed Design, installation, commissioning, as-built documentation, and turnover of equipment
  • Evaluate impact to site operations from activities such as Preventative Maintenance, infrastructure modifications, testing; coordinate with end users/stakeholders and task implementation teams to ensure awareness and mitigate risk
  • Engage with EHS and task execution teams to ensure appropriate safety evaluations, planning, and implementation measures
  • Provide subject matter technical expertise for equipment to ensure continued compliance with regulatory, company, and site policy/procedure
  • Provide subject matter expertise for root cause evaluations, investigations, deviations, change management, and corrective actions
  • Perform Power Studies including Fault Current calculations, Protective Device/Relay evaluations and setting selection, Arc Flash Analysis, and maintenance of Incident Energy equipment labeling
  • Perform review of electric rooms and maintain cleanliness, organization, and safe working environment
  • Typical daily activities within office environment, Central Utilities Building, and other campus facilities as required
