Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Ensure EHS compliances including statutory compliances for the Goa site
  • Comply with all applicable laws, company policies and standards for environment, health & safety
  • Identify potential EHS liabilities and effectively manage them in the plant
  • Improve & maintain EHS performance of plant
  • Proper operation & maintenance of ETP to ensure regulatory compliances
  • Statutory compliances towards disposal process of hazardous & non-hazardous waste generated at site
  • Conduct/coordinate training programs as per Abbott EHS policies & guidelines
  • Conduct EHS awareness programs
  • Liaising on EHS matters with regulatory agencies like GSPCB, IFB & Fire department
  • Assess potential EHS risks & intimate management for corrective actions and timely implementation
  • Industrial hygiene, process hazard mapping for new processes & process modification activities
  • Provide BRSR/ESG audit inputs and handling
  • Compliances towards statutory requirements of Goa factory rules on health of workers
  • Manage end-to-end activities of Industrial Occupational Health initiatives (managing OHC centre, agreements & contract renewals of Facility Medical officer, coordination of annual/half-yearly health checkups, maintenance of records per Goa Factory rules)
  • Ensure adherence of Personal Health & Examination SOP, its compliance & timely renewals
  • Create & update procedures for medical surveillance & operation of OHC as per statutory requirements
  • Training to OHC staff, first aiders & employees; communication of notices & vaccinations as per International Business Travel policy
  • Procurement & maintenance of inventory of OHC consumables
  • Service related to OHC: Calibration of OHC equipment per statutory compliance & Abbott T22 standard; servicing, insurance and maintenance of ambulance
  • Tie-ups with local hospitals for emergency cases
  • Health-related promotional activities for site employees
  • Conducting AED drills as per Abbott standards
  • External surveillance/camps/blood donation drives; vaccination programs (Influenza & Hepatitis B) for site employees
  • Carry out OHPM survey & conduct drives/activities to enhance site’s OH scorecard
  • Launch GOHS initiatives at site (e.g., 2024 Health & wellness behaviors under we Thrive project)
  • Planning and execution of CAPEX projects related to Environment, Health and Safety; ensure compliance to cash flow commitments
  • Drive the yearly Safety week for the site
