Requirements

  • Expertise in implementing and maintaining SBD EHS Management System, including tying to ISO 45001 requirements
  • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks through risk registers, assessments, and sustainable corrective actions
  • Expert-level knowledge of environmental permits (e.g., stormwater, wastewater, air) and ensuring compliance with time-bound requirements, inspections, and reports
  • Understanding of sites’ EHS legal and regulatory requirements, with ability to document and record using EHS tools
  • Capability to provide EHS training on topics like hazardous waste management, shipping, stormwater, SPCC, and air emissions
  • Knowledge of OSHA recordkeeping regulations for injury management
  • Experience in developing and implementing workplace health programs (e.g., ergonomics, safe behaviors, hazard identification)
  • Leadership in safety contingency programs for fire, spill, and emergency response
  • Ability to manage physical site security, including third-party providers, C-TPAT compliance, and incident investigations
  • On-site full-time availability

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key leadership team member, integrating EHS into business operations and driving a proactive Safety-Always culture
  • Champion and communicate EHS vision to inspire all staff levels
  • Implement and maintain SBD EHS Management System, covering policies, leadership alignment, risk/compliance management, operational controls, incident investigation, training, documents/records, planning/monitoring, and continuous improvement
  • Lead, coach, and mentor EHS team members and cross-functional teams
  • Develop risk register, conduct risk assessments, and implement corrective actions to lower risks regularly
  • Manage environmental permits, ensuring accurate inspections, reports, and compliance
  • Compile and ensure controls for EHS legal/regulatory requirements
  • Provide required EHS training to employees
  • Develop/implement workplace health programs in alignment with Global EHS initiatives
  • Guide plant personnel on regulatory compliance for health, safety, and environment
  • Maintain safety contingency programs for emergencies
  • Provide leadership for site security, including third-party management and incident investigations
  • Manage injuries per OSHA regulations and maintain current EHS data in SBD systems
  • Collaborate with departments, regulatory agencies, and Corporate EHS team; report to Plant Director of Operations
