Manager, DevOps and Security

Position Overview

Procurify is seeking a talented and team-driven Manager, DevOps and Security to lead our DevOps and Security functions. This role is crucial for scaling our platform and supporting Procurify's next stage of growth. You will manage a team of 4-8 engineers and be a key player in shaping the future of engineering at Procurify, working closely with Engineering leadership and Platform development teams. While this is a management position, we expect managers to be expert practitioners with hands-on skills and the ability to assess work based on their own experience. This role requires deep, hands-on expertise with a range of open source and proprietary security tooling and practices.

About the Role

• Lead and manage a team of 4-8 DevOps, Security, and Site Reliability Engineers.
• Support our existing CI/CD infrastructure that deploys several times daily to production.
• Contribute at the highest level and assess work based on your own experience and skill.
• Utilize deep, hands-on expertise with a range of open source and proprietary security tooling and practices.
• Be a key player in large platform initiatives to support Procurify's next stage of growth.
• Work closely with Engineering leadership and Platform development teams.

What You'll Be Working On

• Tech Stack:
  • Fully deployed on AWS.
  • Core application runs in Kubernetes with AWS EKS.
  • Infrastructure managed through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • CircleCI for build pipelines and ArgoCD for continuous deployment.
  • Karpenter for Kubernetes scaling.
  • Monitoring stack includes Prometheus and Grafana for metrics and alerting.
  • AWS Opensearch and Kibana for logging.
  • Sentry and New Relic for application monitoring and error tracking.
• Security Initiatives:
  • Work with engineering teams to shift security left in the software development cycle.
  • Develop and implement security-as-code practices.
  • Grow a culture of security-first thinking and security leadership.
  • Manage the security incident response team.
  • Operate the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support DevSecOps best practices.
  • Enable teams to own their own infrastructure using Terraform Cloud.
• Team and Growth:
  • Participate in annual hackathons and fintech innovation.
  • Engage in continuous learning with lean Kanban processes.
  • Build cross-functional relationships with Development, Product, Operations, and Support teams.
  • Articulate and quantify cybersecurity risks through comprehensive metrics for leadership.

Who We're Looking For

Experience:

• 5+ years of DevOps, Security, or DevSecOps experience, shipping and supporting enterprise-grade software in AWS.
• Experience managing a team of engineers and growing leadership within the team.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Building a product at scale on top of AWS.
• Running a containerized application in Kubernetes.
• Working with SIEM tools.
• Deep knowledge of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) tools and practices (e.g., CircleCI, ArgoCD).
• Managing a web-based SaaS application collaboratively with application engineering teams.
• Developing and managing infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Expert knowledge of monitoring stacks (e.g., EFK, Grafana/Prometheus).
• Experience working in a highly secure environment with compliance requirements.
