Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of network related technical experience
  • Ability to supervise and manage crews of technicians responsible for day-to-day construction and engineering activities
  • Office presence minimum of 5 days per week in Bridgeview, Illinois (no relocation offered)

Responsibilities

  • Supervision and management of teams of technicians
  • Leading regular huddles to discuss and direct assignments
  • Overseeing the flow and distribution of inventory and supplies
  • Working with dispatch to apportion work orders amongst crew and ensure allocation of work
  • Maintaining technician work schedules and attendance management
  • Maintaining and reviewing records such as work order close out narratives, key metric reports, and time entries
  • Identifying potential issues and missed customer-service opportunities from prior days' work
  • Providing feedback, training, and coaching to technicians
  • Ensuring crews exhibit care and proper handling of hardware
  • Tool budgeting
  • Evaluating and appraising technician performance
  • Recommending promotions for high-performing technicians and discipline for those who fail to meet expectations
  • Interviewing and gauging the skill level of potential hires and transfers
  • Handling technician grievances consistent with the collective bargaining agreement at the step one level
  • Identifying and removing roadblocks to safe and efficient performance by technicians
  • Conducting in-field safety and quality inspections to ensure technicians perform work properly and safely
  • Contributing to AT&T compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable (e.g., fuel tanks, hazardous waste, construction projects)
