PagerDuty is seeking a Majors Account Executive to join our team. In this hybrid role, reporting to a Regional Sales Director, you will be responsible for expanding opportunities within a set of existing high-value accounts and driving new customer acquisition. We are looking for a dynamic, consultative sales leader who excels at nurturing long-term relationships and winning new business in a tech-forward environment.

You will manage a portfolio of approximately 30 to 50 accounts, balancing the expansion of existing relationships with prospecting for new logos. Success in this role hinges on your ability to align our operations cloud story with multiple stakeholders and identify and close new business. As a customer-centric organization, PagerDuty emphasizes exceptional sales experiences, and we seek someone who can build lasting relationships while pursuing strategic growth. Requirements

  • 5+ years of field sales experience, with a focus on software.

Responsibilities

  • Value Selling: Demonstrate the unique value of PagerDuty's products and services to address specific customer needs and challenges.
  • Account Expansion & Acquisition: Balance time between growing existing accounts and prospecting for new business, identifying new revenue opportunities and developing strategies to win new accounts.
  • Strategic Account Development: Develop and execute strategic plans to expand accounts and identify new high-potential opportunities, aligning with customer objectives and leveraging competitive intelligence.
  • Sales Effectiveness: Establish and maintain strong, authentic relationships with clients, negotiate positive outcomes, and secure new deals.
  • Executive Engagement: Conduct high-level conversations with senior executives (VP+) to uncover strategic needs and align solutions with business challenges.
  • Sales Execution: Ensure thorough and accurate pipeline management, prepare meticulously for meetings, and follow up on commitments for long-term strategic success.
  • Prospecting & New Business Development: Utilize marketing, alliances, and BDR programs to uncover new logo opportunities, proactively qualify prospects, and develop strategies to convert leads into customers.
  • Planning & Forecasting: Map out territory and account strategies, working with internal resources to develop an effective sales approach, and provide accurate forecasts using historical data and market insights.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Engage internal resources effectively and coordinate with support teams to drive deals forward, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
