Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
  • 10+ years of nuclear engineering experience, with 5+ years in mechanical systems design, modification, or major projects
  • Direct experience with Extended Power Uprates, large-scale plant modifications, or equivalent projects
  • Strong knowledge of NRC, INPO, ASME, and ANSI codes and standards
  • Demonstrated ability to lead discipline-specific teams and interface with EPCs, OEMs, and site staff
  • Experience supporting regulatory submittals and responding to NRC/INPO questions preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical engineering scope for multi-billion-dollar EPU projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence
  • Direct and review mechanical system designs, ensuring compliance with ASME, NRC, and fleet standards
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, and site engineering to ensure system compatibility and constructability
  • Support Owner’s Engineer and independent third-party reviews, validating design quality and operational readiness
  • Provide technical leadership in resolving mechanical design issues to maintain outage and project milestones
  • Ensure mechanical modifications support long-term operability, maintainability, and integration into plant systems
