Requirements

High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
Associates degree with a Technical focus or 18 months of related experience in general industry or successful completion of the ATS Technician Progression Program
Understanding of basic electrical and mechanical systems with ability to perform repairs
Ability to use basic hand tools
Ability to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb/balance to heights requiring ladder or lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces, talk or hear; occasionally sit, lift/move more than 50 pounds
Close vision and color vision required
Tolerance for loud factory environment, outside weather, risk of electrical shock, hazardous materials, greasy/slippery floors

Responsibilities

Perform entry to mid-level break-fix and preventative maintenance, including adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, repairing or replacing defective parts, reconditioning or repairing machine tools
Identify needed parts, supplies, and repair items
Provide support and backup for other department members as needed by leadership
Maintain awareness of Maintenance Industry Standards
Assure compliance with 5S and housekeeping standards
Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) activities related to processes, results, and cost savings
Set up and operate simple machining operations (e.g., lathe, drill press, grinder, other metalworking tools) to make and repair parts; perform basic welding tasks as required
Update records and review CMMS history
Perform basic troubleshooting of control systems circuitry
Complete technical self-study programs for career development
Follow all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines; maintain situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions
