Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
  • Associates degree with a Technical focus or 18 months of related experience in general industry or successful completion of the ATS Technician Progression Program
  • Understanding of basic electrical and mechanical systems with ability to perform repairs
  • Ability to use basic hand tools
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb/balance to heights requiring ladder or lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces, talk or hear; occasionally sit, lift/move more than 50 pounds
  • Close vision and color vision required
  • Tolerance for loud factory environment, outside weather, risk of electrical shock, hazardous materials, greasy/slippery floors

Responsibilities

  • Perform entry to mid-level break-fix and preventative maintenance, including adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, repairing or replacing defective parts, reconditioning or repairing machine tools
  • Identify needed parts, supplies, and repair items
  • Provide support and backup for other department members as needed by leadership
  • Maintain awareness of Maintenance Industry Standards
  • Assure compliance with 5S and housekeeping standards
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) activities related to processes, results, and cost savings
  • Set up and operate simple machining operations (e.g., lathe, drill press, grinder, other metalworking tools) to make and repair parts; perform basic welding tasks as required
  • Update records and review CMMS history
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of control systems circuitry
  • Complete technical self-study programs for career development
  • Follow all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines; maintain situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions
