Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering required
  • Minimum of 10 years of reliability experience in a chemical or manufacturing plant
  • Familiarity with API codes and standards
  • Supervisory experience required, with supervision of professionals preferred
  • Good understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance technologies, asset strategies, and reliable manufacturing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite
  • High degree of organizational skills and ability to perform cost tracking and data analysis

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to improve site operations in safety, environmental, quality, cost, and productivity through increased asset reliability
  • Manage and mentor site reliability engineers and technicians, including performance appraisals, onboarding, training, and career development plans
  • Develop and monitor reliability KPIs
  • Understand and support maintenance work management system
  • Provide technical support during unit turnarounds
  • Assist in maintenance cost analysis and development of 5-year major maintenance and capital plans
  • Manage stationary equipment inspection group and site's mechanical integrity program
  • Interface between operations, maintenance, craft maintenance groups, and project engineering group
  • Support and drive accident prevention, environmental excellence, and enforcement of plant safety rules; participate in safety meetings
  • Oversee both fixed and rotating reliability groups
  • Participate in departmental budget preparation and exercise cost control measures
  • Support and drive development of detailed asset strategies, preventative, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies
  • Drive implementation of lubrication best practices
  • Champion development and implementation of basic care rounds by mechanics, lubricators, and operators
  • Drive continuous improvement through Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions
  • Participate in identifying needs and developing craft skills training
  • Participate in improvement or benchmarking projects
  • Support Maintenance Management with cost analysis and reliability improvement plans
  • Keep maintenance personnel updated on advancing technology in diagnostic techniques, repair procedures, and preventative measures
  • Develop maintenance procedures and processes site-wide for Process Safety Management
  • Champion reliability training and awareness across the site
  • Set expectations for precision installations and precision alignments
