Requirements

One year of industrial maintenance experience
At least 6 months of continuous work history with the same employer within the last 24 months, or attending technical school or training within the last 24 months
High school Diploma or GED
If previously employed at Tyson: 90-day waiting period before reapplying, and no more than three times worked at Tyson
Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel
Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
Ability to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules and adhere to Tyson Foods' safety policies and procedures
Proficiency in reading and writing; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork such as SAP, equipment tracking logs, and daily equipment check sheets
Ability to effectively communicate with all hourly team members and members of management in person and on the radio
Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull, stoop, climb ladders/lifts/scaffolds, work at heights exceeding 150 ft., and lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs
Ability to work in varying temperatures (dusty, warm, cold, humid)

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures
Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical or electrical malfunction
Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems
Respond to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations
Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule
Complete appropriate paperwork and reports
Comply with lockout/tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs
Perform mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs
Perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision
Start all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision
Assist with other mechanics as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
