Requirements

Good understanding of electrical control, automated systems, and manufacturing process equipment
Background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation control systems, or a combination
Recognized qualification in engineering such as C&G, HNC/HND level
Ideally undergone an engineering apprenticeship scheme
Previous experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably in a pharmaceutical environment
Awareness of engineering stores spares control
Understanding of emergency procedures and safe systems of work
Ability to work in classified areas such as clean rooms with specific dress code
Adherence to GMP safety standards, environmental conditions (e.g., cold rooms, fluctuating temps, loud noises, PPE, hazardous materials, working at heights), and rotational shift schedule including nights/weekends

Responsibilities

Engage in planned and unplanned maintenance activities using problem-solving and lean manufacturing techniques to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
Drive improvements across the maintenance team to enhance efficiency, uphold 5S standards, and eliminate/reduce waste or non-value add activities
Participate in upgrading equipment, processes, and small projects
Support routine maintenance tickets to ensure equipment is maintained across site
Complete GMP documentation to high standards, highlight errors/bad practices, suggest improvements, and support progression (e.g., change controls)
Utilize external resources (e.g., contractors, specialists) and generate/complete documentation (e.g., purchase orders, spares requests, quotations, work permits)
Ensure personal activities (e.g., preventative maintenance tasks, training) are completed reliably on time against targets
Write clear and accurate maintenance instructions and assist with organizing/delivering training to engineering and non-engineering staff
Provide cover for team members (e.g., Technical Support, Engineering Coordinators)
